BBC Good Food Show, Birmingham is back with even more live action than ever before
This year’s BBC Good Food Show, 25–29 Nov, will feature the busiest ever schedule to entice food lovers with a mix of celebrity chefs, live demos, opportunities to have-a-go, festive drinks, seasonal foods and a huge selection of award-winning UK producers. New features include an interactive ‘MasterChef Experience’, alongside visitor favourites including Henrietta Green’s FoodLoversBritain.com Fair.
Some of the main features at the BBC Good Food Show include:
A chance to see your favourite stars -
Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, James Martin and The Hairy Bikers will be cooking live in the Supertheatre sponsored by Sainsbury’s.
Take part or be entertained -
· The MasterChef Experience is a major new attraction; a complete Show-within-a-Show where you can try out your cookery skills before a live audience in The Invention Test and watch experts from the TV series cook in the MasterChef Theatre. They’ll be live demonstrations from previous finalists including Thomasina Miers, James Nathan, Andy Oliver, Hannah Miles and Chris Gates.
· The Invention Test is an exclusive cookery school style set up where 30 contestants will be given just 30 minutes to whip up a dish from scratch, using the ingredients available. Participants will hope that they can convince not only the assessors who will be watching their every move, but also John Torode and Gregg Wallace themselves (Fri -Sun only), that they’ve got what it takes to become a MasterChef.
The Miele Cookery Experience offers visitors the chance to cook alongside one of their cooking heroes and learn a variety of techniques.
Learn from the Experts -
· The British Theatre - See the BBC Good Food magazine team live in action. Learn new skills from the professionals including Good Food’s culinary maestro Barney Desmazery. There’s something for everyone so come along as often as you like to this open theatre and be entertained and educated by the professionals.
· The Magimix Theatre - See how the experts whiz up the perfect smoothie and demonstrate how to make perfect ice cream, cakes and more.
· Grow Your Own Food with NS&I - Visit this interactive vegetable garden for information, tips and techniques about growing your own fruit and vegetables. Speak to an expert about the best seasonal flavours at the NS&I Grow Your Own Food feature.
· Taste Workshops presented by Slow Food - Good food is meant to be grown at its natural pace, cooked with patience and savoured at leisure. Slow Food workshops remind us that sitting down to eat with friends is one of the great pleasures in life so make some time to join in and remind yourself what fresh, delicious food really tastes like.
The Drinks Theatre - Finding the right wine to complement your food can be confusing, but our wine experts, including Oz Clarke and Sarah Jane Evans are on hand to help. You can also join a CAMRA master class to taste and learn all about ales.
