Kai Overview
Award winning* Kai Mayfair continues to justify its reputation as one of the capital’s finest Chinese restaurants, a place where the most discerning and adventurous foodies expect sheer indulgence and culinary fulfilment.
Proprietor Bernard Yeoh has spent the last 14 years refining and perfecting every last detail. Yeoh and Executive Head Chef Alex Chow share a common love of traditional Chinese fare coupled with the desire to continually redefine the boundaries of Chinese cuisine. The menu follows this ideal with traditional comfort favourites that never tire and dynamic new fusions that reflect the energy and fervour of Chow at work.
Chow has spent time developing his love of Western & Asian ingredients, subtly incorporating them into the ancient art that is Chinese cuisine. His talents have earned him many prestigious awards including Chinese Master Chef of London and the Culinary Art in Miniature Award at the 2005 Restaurant and Hospitality Show at the Birmingham NEC.
Kai will continue to set a new precedent for Chinese Cuisine. It is their belief that a meal should be enjoyed not once but three time, in anticipation, in consumption and in remembrance.
* Voted the Best Chinese Restaurant: in London 2002 - 2005 (Hardens / Zagat), in Great Britain 2005 - 2007 (Carlsberg BIBA), in Europe 2003 - 2004 (Zagat) & nominations for Tatler Magazine’s Best Kitchen & UK’s Best Dishes.
