The BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards with judges Richard Corrigan, Jeremy Lee, Adam Henson and host Sheila Dillon was live on stage in the Supertheatre sponsored by Sainsbury’s.

Visitors were part of the audience for the presentation of last year’s BBC Food & Farming Awards... a starry event with James Martin, Angela Hartnett, Rick Stein & Richard Corrigan handing over the awards to the country’s best food producers, cooks, campaigners, farmers, and retailers. It was a glittering occasion, but one that matters.  As The Daily Telegraph wrote, the awards “have made a significant impact on everything from school dinners to ready meals, hospital food to haute cuisine....... because they’re about “the real lives of the ordinary people who earn their daily bread from what we eat.”    Or, as Jamie Oliver put it more succinctly, they’re “the Oscars of the food world.”
