Disabled Companions Admitted FREE
If you need to bring a companion, assistant or guider with you to the Show to maximise your enjoyment, then that carer can be admitted free of charge. Please make this clear to the Box Office when you book your tickets - they will be happy to help! These tickets must be booked via the Box Office over the phone.
Assistance Dogs
Guide, assistance and hearing dogs are admitted into the show.
Sign Language Interpreted Sessions
There will be signed sessions throughout the show in our theatres. Please refer to the theatre timetables section of this website, where they will be clearly marked for your information.
Booking your Tickets
All disabled visitors attending the BBC Good Food Show are advised to inform the box office operators at the time of booking tickets if you need a wheelchair space, or any special requirements. We will also help you find the most convenient seating for visually impaired visitors. The ticket hotline will also have details of the days and times of celebrity demonstrations with sign language interpreters, these sessions will be confirmed soon. Please note that all ticket sales are allocated on a first come first served basis.
Access & Parking
If travelling by train disembark at Birmingham International Station. Access to The NEC is the skywalk. All levels of The NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via ramps or lifts. The Atrium & Piazza entrances have automatic doors. Parking is free of charge for any vehicles displaying orange badges, and is situated at or near the main entrance to the BBC Good Food Show. Additional parking is also available in the main car parks, serviced by free shuttle buses which are accessible to wheelchairs. On arrival at The NEC, traffic officers will direct you to the main disabled parking area for the show.
Hearing Impairments
Public telephones are available for persons with hearing impairments. Induction loops are fitted to ticket sales points, Information points, show guide sales points, all show feature demonstration areas, press office and the organisers office.
Wheelchair Hire
For exhibitions at The NEC, Bartram’s operate a mobility equipment hire service. We strongly advise visitors to pre book equipment to avoid disappointment. Bartram’s operate a telephone booking line Monday to Friday 0900hrs-1700hrs on 01353 778756. Visitor can also book via Bartram’s website http://www.bartrams.net. For any visitors who have not pre booked equipment and arrive on the day, any remaining stock will be issued on a first- come, first-served basis. Manual wheelchairs are free of charge to blue badge holders, £5 per day to other visitors. Electric scooters are £15 per day for all visitors. This is a non-refundable scheme. As Bartram’s location varies from show to show, please check collection point when making a booking.
Toilets
The NEC have Male and Female wheelchair accessible toilets.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency please notify a member of security or any member of the BBC Good Food show staff who will be pleased to help you. Alternatively contact the medical centre on 2222 using the internal telephone situated at the entrance to each hall.
