Great British cooking brand Belling prepared a food-filled five days at BBC Good Food Show Winter 2011 with an action-packed schedule of expert cookery demos, on-stand promotions, not to mention the unveiling of the world’s first Facebook-inspired cooker.
As official appliance sponsor to the 2011 series of BBC Good Food Shows, Belling hosted a non-stop timetable of on-stand foodie fun (R140). There was un-missable cookery demonstrations from celebrity chef and Belling brand ambassador Brian Turner, Indian cookery expert Cyrus Todiwala, as well as unique cookery-inspired initiatives, top tips from the WI and a daily £1,000 appliance giveaway.

Live cookery demonstrations - get up close and personal with some of the UK’s top cooking talent:
Belling’s brand ambassador and the UK’s favourite TV chef, Brian Turner, were on-stand every day cooking up a storm with some delicious winter-inspired cookery demonstrations. He also be took on a daily Get, Set, Cook challenge with a bag of mystery ingredients sourced from the show’s exhibitors.
Adding a touch of spice, on Saturday 26th November top Indian chef Cyrus Todiwala created some mouth-watering Asian delights.
The world’s first Facebook-inspired cooker – find your face on an exclusive cooker:
Belling launched a campaign to create the world’s first Facebook-inspired cooker. Until 14th November anyone that ‘liked’ the Belling Facebook page had their image transported on to a Belling Classic range. If the Facebook page reached 1,500 ‘likes’ during the campaign period one lucky person could win a range cooker.
The exclusive one-of-a-kind cooker, featuring the images of Belling’s Facebook fans, was created and showcased on stand.
Tweet Pie: the World’s Shortest Recipe Book:
Last this year Belling launched a campaign to create a recipe book crowdsourced from Twitter and containing recipes of just 140 characters or less. All proceeds from the sale of the book were donated to FoodCycle, a social enterprise which is tackling food waste and poverty in communities across the UK. The ideal stocking filler, FoodCycle sold copies of the book during the show. Brian Turner was also re-creating some favourite 140 character recipes from the book.
Top tips from the Women’s Institute:
A long-term partner of Belling’s sister brand, Stoves, the Women’s Institute was on-stand during the show to help answer any cooking queries and quandaries.
£1,000 Belling appliance giveaway:
Open to everyone visiting the show, Belling also gave away £1,000 of appliances every day.
As official appliance sponsor, Belling’s leading British built cookers, hobs and range ovens took pride of place in the live demonstration theatres at last year’s event. Top chefs including James Martin, Rick Stein, John Torode and Rachel Allen cooked up a storm on Belling’s top-of-the-range built-in appliances.
