Liberty Mendez

Liberty is a professional pastry chef, food writer and stylist. Having previously worked for 4 years with the BBC Good Food team (known best for her lock-down hit focaccia recipe) she now is focusing on writing recipes, food journalism, and styling. Prior to this, at the age of 16, she did a three-year diploma at the renowned Westminster Kingsway College, cooking in restaurants like The Ritz, before being a pastry chef at The House of Commons. At the the age of 24, her accolades include winning the PPA’s prestigious 30 under 30 award for two years running. Specialising in all things patisserie, her cakes are much sought-after among the Good Food team – the proof’s in the pudding. She’s also interested in environmental issues and endeavours to make the test kitchen as eco-friendly as possible.
