Eat like a local

Norse is a casual Nordic influenced restaurant in Harrogate. It is located within Baltzersen’s cafe  which closes for an hour whilst they change things around for the evening service. Their dishes are influenced by Nordic cuisine, and are perfect for foodies looking for a fun, interesting and alternative experience. Norse locally sourced, fresh ingredients wherever possible, changing their menu regularly. 


Stuzzi started when its founders met working at an Italian restaurant in Headingley, Leeds. A love affair with all things Italian developed and they decided they had outgrown their current home and needed a place of their own.

As none of us are Italian we felt we had to prove our worth and decided we would  travel the length of the country in our old Toyota people carrier armed with a tent and cooking gear. We zig zagged our way down the country visiting friends and suppliers, totting up 7,500 miles eating,  drinking and absorbing everything around us building the knowledge and experience we needed to make our dream a success.

It took a while to find a site as no landlords were willing to take a risk on us and eventually we had to sell our homes to buy a derelict pharmacy on the dead side of town. We worked day and night over three months with the help of family and friends to turn it into the restaurant we all knew we wanted, eventually opening in November 2014 .

Everybody dreams of an overnight success and we were confident in our abilities and were relieved but not surprised when we were booked solid within the first few weeks.

Food and wine are our passion , we think of nothing else day in and out! It’s the only thing we take seriously in life, and determination pays as we continue to gain momentum two and a half years later, winning multiple awards and acknowledgments from both local and national press.”
