Looking for a unique and savoury twist on the classic French macaron? Look no further than our Parmesan Shortbread Macarons! These delicate treats are a perfect combination of the sweet and salty flavours, with the rich, buttery taste of parmesan cheese paired with the light and airy texture of a classic French macaron. The perfect canapé for any party!

Serves: 30 small biscuits

60g grated Parmesan 

50g unsalted butter

60g plain flour 

Cream cheese

Pinch cayenne pepper 
Pinch cumin seeds 
Pinch of salt
Lemon zest or smoked salmon (optional)


  1. For your filling, mix together the cream cheese, salt and pepper, add chives, black pepper, lemon zest, or some smoked salmon if you’re using it.
  2. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl, once combined roll between two sheets of parchment paper. Then use a small ring cutter to score, place on a baking tray and cook at 180c for 8-10 minutes until golden, Remove and allow to cool.
  3. Pipe the cream cheese filling onto one side of the biscuit and then place another on top to create your savoury macarons.
