As well as being known for its anti-flammatory effects and as a source of antioxidants, turmeric adds to the warmth provided by the ginger in this hot beverage. This is a great option when you’re feeling under the weather in the cooler months.

Ingredients

500 g dairy-free milk of choice (e.g. almond or hazelnut, see tip)
1 tsp ground turmeric
2 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 pinches ground black pepper
2 tsp maple syrup

Method

Preparation
1.  Place milk, turmeric, oil, ginger, vanilla extract and pepper in mixing bowl then heat 5 min/80°C/speed 1.

2.  Add maple syrup and blend 15 sec/speed 10. Pour into glasses or mugs and leave to stand for a few minutes allowing flavours to infuse before serving warm.
