John Lavery is the owner and head of the kitchen at ‘Fish City’in Belfast’s Ann Street. With a background in the food industry and having spent many years in the restaurant trade, John and his wife Grainne opened their first Belfast restaurant and take away eighteen months ago. After a year of trading they have won several awards, including ‘Best Seafood Establishment’ 2017.
Passionate about protecting the oceans, and ensuring fish stocks are protected for future generations, John ensures the menu at Fish City focuses on high quality and sustainably sourced seafood, all seafood is MSC certified and ethically sourced.
The menu at Fish City focuses on seafood dishes, including the traditional and much loved Fish & Chips, but the menu is extensive with lots more than seafood to choose from - accompanied by a great wine and local craft beer selection.
